Cook will give an overview of his research examining the paradoxical effects of exercise on pain and fatigue, or "the phenomenon that acute exercise can cause pain and fatigue in some, but that chronic exercise is an efficacious treatment for chronic pain and fatigue," writes Cook.

Cook went to graduate school at the University of Georgia, and calls the invitation a "great honor."

The lecture is given every year by an exceptional kinesiology scholar in honor of Dr. Clifford Lewis, who served the Department of Physical Education at the University of Georgia for nearly 40 years.
