Social Science Computing Cooperative

Effective January 2008, the School of Education is a member of the Social Science Computing Cooperative, http://www.ssc.wisc.edu. Membership in the cooperative provides SoE faculty, staff and graduate students with expanded access to statistical software packages and to statistical software consulting. For an overview of our membership, please see the SSCC Welcome message.

Symantec Antivirus Upgrade
Beginning on Tuesday, December 11, the SoE IT Office will be pushing out a new version of Symantec Antivirus software to all computers running Microsoft Windows.  This install will happen right after you log into the computer, but before the desktop appears, and it will take several minutes to complete.  (More Info...)

SoE Web Survey Service

The SoE IT office is making available Web survey accounts for SoE faculty, staff and students who want to develop and distribute an online survey related to their research, instructional or administrative work. The service will be offered on a pilot basis until Spring 2008, to determine the support needs and interest in the service.

IE7 Rollout
On November 7, the SoE IT office will release Internet Explorer version 7 to managed workstations in our Active Directory Domain. An FAQ about IE 7 has been posted.  (Website)
