Social Science Computing Cooperative

Effective January 2008, the School of Education (SoE) is a member of the Social Science Computing Cooperative (SSCC). Membership in the cooperative provides SoE faculty, staff and graduate students with access to statistical software packages through a terminal server connection to SSCC servers (Winstat) and statistical software consulting. The membership also simplifies the administration of statistical software licensing.

School of Education technology staff are available to assist SoE members with installing and using the Citrix ICA client and related troubleshooting. SSCC consultants are available for statistical software consulting and support of software accessed through Winstat.

Quick Facts

  1. Winstat is the SSCC's Windows Terminal Server farm.
  2. Citrix ICA client software is used to connect to the SSCC's Winstat terminal server farm.
  3. Contact your local tech support for assistance with the initial setup.
  4. Login at http://ssc.education.wisc.edu.
  5. Winstat connection uses your existing SOE-AD account.
  6. Mappings back to your group share and personal share available.
  7. P drive will be relabeled as U drive.
  8. Access to default local printer available.
