SoE WEB SURVEY PILOT

The SoE IT Office has recently installed a Web survey tool called SelectSurvey.NET. This software allows you to create and distribute an online survey and analyze the survey returns through a web browser. This tool is being made available at no charge to SoE faculty, staff and students as part of a pilot project, as technical staff evaluate the ongoing support issues for the service. Our evaluation should be completed during Spring 2008. The following terms of service apply.

Appropriate Use

  1. Users must adhere to the UW-Madison Appropriate Use policy for technology resources. (See http://www.doit.wisc.edu/security/policies/appropriate_use.asp)
  2. Users must protect the privacy of their data as required by UW policies, and state and federal regulations.
  3. Data covered by HIPAA will not be supported by this service.
  4. All research regarding human subjects must have an approved IRB review on file with full exemptions.

Eligibility

  1. User must be faculty, staff or a student in the School of Education.
  2. Login account will use the person's SoE-AD network login.

Scope

  1. SoE IT will establish your account with appropriate permissions for creating your survey.
  2. The survey creator is responsible for the export and storage of their survey data.
  3. Restores of data are not possible. Once the survey is deleted the data is gone.
  4. All survey data will be deleted 1 year from the opening of the survey, unless prior arrangements have been made.
  5. SoE IT will offer no consults on survey creation. Please see resources for assistance with developing your survey.
