The School of Education offers graduate programs in the following areas: art, counseling psychology, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership and policy analysis, educational policy studies, educational psychology, kinesiology, occupational therapy, rehabilitation psychology, and special education.
Information about any of these degree programs must be obtained from the specific department. Departmental phone numbers and e-mail addresses are available on the "Departments" page of the School of Education's website. Direct your inquiries to the department's graduate secretary.
Except for special education, the School of Education does not offer master's degree teacher certification programs. Individuals with a previous degree will earn either a second degree or teacher certification only.
MSPE is a convenient Master of Science for Professional Educators degree program offered through the Department of Educational Psychology. It integrates courses from three departments in the School of Education – Educational Psychology, Curriculum & Instruction, and Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis, leading to a Master of Science in Educational Psychology degree. In just two years, teaching professionals can complete this 24-credit master’s degree in the Educational Psychology Department that’s ranked No. 1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report (April 2008). Designed with the professional educator’s schedule in mind, MSPE offers 90 percent of its courses online.
The School of Education's Doctoral Research Program provides professional development and enrichment for doctoral students preparing for careers in educational research. Students selected for the program work with diverse faculty, participate in seminars, plan a public lecture series on educational issues, and take course modules designed to advance their research.
