Undergraduate Programs

Academic Programs

Composed of eight academic departments, the UW-Madison School of Education prepares students in a variety of disciplines. Many students are pursuing degrees in teacher preparation programs, but nearly half of our undergraduates are enrolled in non-teacher-certification programs such as dance, art, kinesiology, and rehabilitation psychology.

To find a full list of our undergraduate academic programs, go to the Education Academic Services website, www.education.wisc.edu/eas, and click on the link in the upper left corner of the page. Reviewing the requirements for your major is a crucial first step for students considering a School of Education program.

Application and Admission

Most teacher education programs and the Department of Kinesiology programs limit enrollment and have a February 1 program application deadline. Find links to the professional program applications on the front page of the Education Academic Services website: www.education.wisc.edu/eas. Dance students are admitted by performance   audition only; see this website for more information: http://www.dance.wisc.edu/auditions/default.asp.

Prospective freshmen and transfer students must submit an application for admission to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. These applications can be completed on-line or ordered through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Armory & Gymnasium, 716 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706-1481. Phone: (608) 262-3961.

Undergraduate Advising

Education Academic Services, the School’s undergraduate advising and dean’s office, provides advising services to current and prospective undergraduates. Most students meet with advisors in 30-minute, one-on-one advising sessions. When necessary we will arrange for a phone appointment. Call the EAS reception desk at (608) 262-1651 to schedule an advising session. Prospective students are strongly encouraged to confer with Education Academic Services advising staff. See the EAS website for more details on our services.

Student Diversity Programs
