Clinical Associates (CA)

The Clinical Associates Committee consists of elementary and middle school teachers and administrators, university personnel and teacher education students. It meets four times annually. It is an advisory group focusing on clinical education in the Elementary Education program.

Clinical Associates are active members of the committee. After serving as a CA, by-laws indicate that individuals then serve as Building Representatives (CABRs) to their schools. CABRs are not active committee members, but given their prior knowledge of the committee, they are able to continue serving as liaisons between their staffs and the CA committee. Madison Metropolitan School District schools utilized for field experience placements have either a Clinical Associate or a Building Representative. Other districts or schools utilized for field experience placements also have a representative to the committee.
